    2) Французский квартал [ Vieux Carre] с частью исторических памятников г. Нового Орлеана, прилегающих к Джексон-скуэр [ Jackson Square]
    3) Зона Баратарии [Barataria Unit], включенная в парк с целью сохранения экологии заболоченной лагуны залива Баратария [ Barataria Bay] южнее Нового Орлеана. Общая площадь - около 8 тыс. га

    2) воен Боец специального подразделения в составе Сухопутных войск [ Army, U.S.], предназначенного в основном для ведения боевых действий на территории противника за линией фронта, чаще всего для захвата стратегически важных объектов. Подразделения рейнджеров существовали как отдельные формирования с 1942 по 1952. Впервые за последнее десятилетие были использованы в Панаме для захвата панамского диктатора генерала М. Норьеги в декабре 1989. Общая численность около 2 тыс. человек; организационно сведены в 75-й пехотный полк рейнджеров, размещенный по батальонам в штатах Джорджия и Вашингтон. Наименование "рейнджерская" [Ranger Unit] может присваиваться и другим частям, что примерно соответствует понятию "гвардейская часть".
